About

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction involves helping people grow in their relationship with God. This happens by inviting people to notice how God is at work in their day-to-day lives, and by helping them discern, be aware, and respond to God’s invitations.

What is Ignatian Spiritual Direction?

Ignatian spiritual direction is a unique way to accompany another person on their faith journey. As Ignatian Spiritual Directors and Prayer Partners, we made the Spiritual Exercises, and were formed by the Lanteri Center Spiritual Direction Program. We use the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius as our guide to accompany you in your journey; and to discern the movements of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is your spiritual director, and we accompany you in your journey.

What Spiritual Direction Is Not?

Spiritual Direction is not Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, or an Advice Seeking Session.

Go Forth and Set the World on Fire” – St Ignatius of Loyola

“Whatever you are doing that makes you feel most alive… that is here God is.”

“Lord, teach me to be generous: Teach me to serve you as you deserve; To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to head the wounds; To Toil, and not to seek for rest; to labor, and not ask for reward – except to know that I am doing your will.”

“Take, O Lord, and receive my entire liberty, my memory, my understanding and my whole will. All that I am and all that I possess You have given me. I surrender it all to You to be disposed of according to Your will. Give me only Your love and Your grace; with these I will be rich enough, and will desire nothing more.””All the things in this world are gifts of God, created for us, to be the means by which we can come to know him better, love him more surely, and serve him more faithfully.”

“All the things in this world are gifts of God, created for us, to be the means by which we can come to know him better, love him more surely, and serve him more faithfully.”

“Act as if everything depended on you; trust as if everything depended on God.”
